Good Shepherd Prayer Groupback to top

This is a small Charismatic afternoon prayer group that meets every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.

“Charismatic” is a Greek word for “gift”. We seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be manifested in our lives. We do so through prayers, praise and thanksgiving through quiet meditation and song. We also turn to Scripture working in our lives. The meeting is concluded with petitions for our loved ones, those in need and prayer requests received from others. Refreshments are served following the meeting. The meetings are held in the members’ homes or at the Motsett Center.

For information, call Claire Gifford at 442-5313 (parish office).

Men’s Spirituality & Prayer Groupback to top

This group meets at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays at the Parrish Office (upstairs). The format is that of an informal discussion group. We start with a morning prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours (we will be happy to help anyone who would like to learn how to pray the Liturgy of the Hours). This is followed by the reading of the scripture selections for that Sunday. These readings are used as a basis of discussion on a variety of topics affecting men in today’s world. Meetings generally last 1-1 ½ hours, but for your convenience feel free to come or go as your time permits. Please bring a Bible.

For more information, call Jeff Cooper at 443-6850.

We pray the rosary daily from Monday to Saturday at 6:45 a.m.

Call John Twork to volunteer to lead the daily rosary at 446-2292.

We also pray the rosary at the Church every Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. as part of a holy hour which includes time for silent prayer and concludes with benediction. Participants always have an opportunity to share in leading a decade of the rosary.

The contact person is Rita Prouty at 446-4513.

Parish Youth Groupback to top

Our goal consists of three areas to help students deepen their faith, foster a greater sense of community, and interact with their peer. This is accomplished by breaking meetings into categories of Faith -- a roundtable like discussion with a topic presented to the students, Service -- where the students provide service activities for the community and Fun Activities -- which might include activities such as wiener roast, ice skating, bonfires and bowling.

Parents are encouraged to get involved and attend meetings as their chaperones or just observers. Please feel free to contact any of the leaders:

Beth Chamberlain --- 443-3513
Meridith Christman --- 597-2658
Alinda Higgins --- 776-2435
Fr. Greg Nelson --- 442-5313

Centering Prayer

A particular method of contemplative prayer. Contemplative prayer is the opening of mind and heart, one’s whole being, to God. Centering prayer is designed to facilitate contemplation by preparing us to cooperate with this gift, opening us to an awareness of God’s presence and grateful acceptance of God’s action within.

We gather on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the parish office conference room. If you are interested in joining the group or would like to know more about this way of prayer, please call Sister Charles Allen at 442-5313.
